Hernandez out on loan

Posted on: Mon 10 Sep 2007

Sheffield United's young goalkeeper Stephen Hernandez has joined Worksop Town on a loan-deal until early December and made his debut in The Tigers 2-1 defeat at Fleetwood Town on Saturday

Hernandez, who was a regular at Academy level last season, will be familiar with his new surroundings, after playing at Sandy Lane on a number of occasions last year for the Blades reserve B side.

Stephen has been signed as a replacement for regular keeper Laurence Matthewson who was ruled out for four weeks after sustaining a broken finger at Matlock Town.

The three-month loan will give the stopper a chance to play regular first-team football for the Unibond Premier League outfit and he will be out to impress Tigers boss Peter Rinkcavage.
