Two of United's longest serving players have given everyone a pre-match boost by tying themselves to the Club for even longer after contract negotiations were completed at the Lane.

Chris Morgan and Michael Tonge have today put pen-to-paper on extensions to their existing contracts with the Blades.

Blades skipper Morgan has signed a new four-year deal to tie him to Bramall Lane until 2011, whilst Tonge has now committed himself to the Blades cause at the Lane until 2010.

United's Football Club Chairman, Terry Robinson said: "I'm highly delighted that Chris and Michael have signed extensions to their existing deals.

"They epitomise the spirit that will take this great Club forward."

Morgan said: "I'm delighted to extend my contract to coincide with the new regime which has helped to lift the boys.

"The Club is making strides forward and it's nice to be offered a contract extension to fit into those plans."

An equally delighted Tonge said: "Hopefully this will mark a vital stage of my career, and I desperately want to help establish the Club - where I have been for so long - in the Premiership."
