United defender Derek Geary and midfielder Alan Quinn have both signed one-year extensions to their contracts.

The extensions ensure that the pair, who head over to Ireland on Friday for United's pre-season trip, are now on contract until 2010.

Quinn said: "I went in to see the Gaffer to see where I stood and I am thrilled that he wants me to be part of things here.

"I'm now looking forward to the start of the season, and I'm ready to fight for my first-team place."

The duo featured for United in the Barclays Premiership last season - Geary made 26 starts in the top-flight, whilst Quinn started 11 times and came off the bench on eight occasions.
