Blades fans are reminded that concession turnstiles are now fully operational in all areas of the stadium.
Dave McCarthy, United's Managing Director, who is overseeing the operation, believes it is necessary to be able to clearly distinguish legitimate supporters coming into the ground with concession tickets from those mis-using the tickets.
"All supporters should be able to enjoy watching their team play, having paid the appropriate price to do so. We offer very competitive prices at Bramall Lane and believe that the vast majority of our supporters are honest and would also expect their fellow fans sitting alongside them to have paid the correct amount," said McCarthy.
The specific turnstiles are stadium wide and are labelled with the appropriate signage so supporters know which ones will allow them access. Adults are still able to accompany concessions through the specific turnstiles when needed.
The Blades are operating a very strict policy on concessions (under 16s, 16-18 years, students, disabled and over 60s) with supporters expected to be able to produce appropriate documentation for the ticket they are using if requested to do do.
Emma Wylie, United's Ticket Office Manager, added: "Any fans purchasing concessionary season or match tickets are reminded to bring proof of status with them to the game to avoid any unnecessary issues. When entering the turnstiles a coloured light will indicate a concessionary ticket prompting the stewards to check the relevant form of ID. Fans unable to provide the correct proof of concession will be referred to the Ticket Office and could possibly be refused entry."
