Transfer rumours quashed

Posted on: Thu 04 Mar 2010

Reports of player interest regarding Sheffield United have been dismissed by Kevin Blackwell as rumour.

Stephen Quinn has been linked with a loan to promotion rivals Swansea City, whilst strikers John Rooney (Macclesfield) and Richard Brodie (York City) have also been mentioned on the grapevine as subject to Blades interest, but the United boss denied the links:

"I can't stop paper talk and in fact that is where I usually find out who I am signing first!
The Rooney talk, again, is news to me - the lads were watching Mickey Rooney on DVD on the bus last week, maybe it's him! As far as I am concerned, nobody is likely to leave or come in as things stand at the moment."
