Ujpest 2-1 Ferencvaros - match report

Posted on: Tue 06 Oct 2009

Ferencvaros lost 2-1 in the big Budapest derby against arch rivals Ujpest in front of a crowd in excess of 10,000 over the weekend.

FITOS fired Fradi in front just before the break, only for KABAT to respond almost immediately, before RAJCZI headed home the winner in the 90th minute.

In Hungarian football this clash is as ferocious as United against Wednesday, and despite being cheered by over 2,000 travelling supporters Fradi couldn't send them home with the local bragging rights.

Denis Rosa hit the post in the fifth minute for the visitors, before on-loan goalkeeper Justin Haber made a number of fine saves throughout the contest

Along with Haber, James Ashmore and Liban Abdi both featured for Bobby Davison's men, whilst former Blade Paul Shaw was an unused substitute.

The defeat leaves Fradi in 12th position in the NBI table.
