Blades support the Sharrow Festival

Posted on: Tue 06 Jul 2010

The Blades have been out in the community, supporting the Sharrow Festival, which is held just a stone's throw from Bramall Lane.

The Sharrow Festival was rewarded with a day of sunshine as thousands made their way to Mount Pleasant Park to join in the festivities.

This year United, along with their charity division The United Initiative, not only helped to sponsor the event but were on hand to add to the fun.

A prize draw for a Blades home shirt was won by 11 year old Sam Cordingley which was presented to his mum by SUFC staff. There were plenty of takers for a range of giveaways and the Blades were able to promote a range of events and offers including junior membership.

Staff and volunteers of the SUFC Kickz Project in Sharrow and Broomhall were there helping with the SUFC stall and FURD's (Football United, Racism Divides) Streetkick. The Festival also gave the Kickz Street Dance Crew their first performing opportunity which was met with much applause.
