Posted on: Wed 29 Oct 2008

Sheffield pupil King -Yee Cheung is set to bring an exciting new look to Bramall Lane.

The 11-year-old's winning poster design was chosen to represent United's Kick it Out campaign, with a large version of her artwork to be displayed in the club's Visit Malta family enclosure on John Street.

King -Yee Cheung from the Sheffield and District Chinese School was presented with a framed copy of her entry by Sun Jihai, the Blades' Kick it Out ambassador for the season, alongside United Initiative staff Mark Todd and Adrian Littlejohn, before the home win against Preston last Saturday.

Following funding from Kick it Out, the competition was run by The United Initiative with the Chinese Community Centre and the Sheffield and District Chinese School as part of a Chinese Links Project.

Runners-up were Chun-Hang Cho from the school and Nina Rasuli of the Chinese Community Centre.

Pupils from the Sheffield and District Chinese School provided entertainment at half-time with a cultural lion dance on the Bramall Lane pitch.

Supporters were also treated to a 'One game, One community' flag parade before the Preston game led by children from Sharrow, Lowfield and Springfield schools, along with representative from United's Kickz programme.

The youngsters had all taken part in a 'One game, One community' football tournament run by Football Unites Racism Divides and The United Initiative at the Blades' Academy in Shirecliffe, with Sharrow school being crowned the Champions.

Meanwhile, the Blades' Kickz award nominees, Inspector Craig Patchett of South Yorkshire Police and Jarvis Salmon, were presented to the crowd before kick-off.

Craig and Jarvis have been shortlisted for the Outstanding Police Contribution Award and the Youth Volunteer of the Year accolade respectively, ahead of the Kickz Awards, which are being held in London on 30th October.
