United help - by gum!

Posted on: Fri 27 Jun 2008

The United Initiative - the club's community arm - has backed a recent dental health campaign.

The British Dental Federation's National Smile Month was promoted by Sheffield dental practice, Thompson and Thomas, and United's Adrian Littlejohn and Mark Todd added their support.

Former Blades players Littlejohn and Todd joined Thompson and Thomas at Meadowhall to speak to shoppers about the importance of oral hygiene.

Jane Armitage, of Thompson and Thomas, said: "As well as the media coverage we received, we spoke to in excess of speaking to 3,000 people and did tremendously well to promote the campaign:

"It was the help and support of the likes of Adrian and Mark that made the day so memorable and we'd like to thank them for their contribution to the cause."
