Chengdu Blades 2-3 Chongqing Lifan - report
A late of goal saw Chengdu Blades slip to their first defeat in five matches in round 26 of the Chinese Super League.
Rodrigues and Zhang Yuan had restored parity for the Blades after a Lambert brace had given the visitors a two-goal lead, only for Fan Peipei's red-card to hand the initiative back to Lifan, who netted all three points through Fan Dongqing.
After a slow start, a goalkeeping error handed Chongqing the lead. Lan Yi misjudged a Wu Qing cross from the right and LAMBERT forced home the ball from close-range.
The Blades responded well with Zhang Yuan and Santalab both working hard up front, but Lifan were in resolute mood at the back. Three minutes after the restart, Chongqing doubled their lead, with LAMBERT again the scorer.
Chengdu refused to lie down though and two goals in seven minutes from RODRIGUES and ZHANG YUAN drew the home side level.
Just when it looked like the Blades could go on and net a winner, Fan Peipei was red-carded for a reckless challenge on Xia Jin.
In the 82nd minute Lifan capitalised on their numerical advantage as FAN DONGQING ensured the visitors would leave with all three points.
