Chengdu's struggles in the Chinese Super League continue after slipping to a narrow defeat in the round 14 fixtures at Shenzhen Shangqingyin.

The Blades had plenty of chances to score in Shenzhen but failed to find the killer instinct once more. Liu Cheng's header was saved in the first half, whilst Wang Song shot wide.

After the break, Rodrigues and Shi Jun both went close but the home side took the lead two minutes after the interval when Mo Qide found the target at the second time of asking.

Shenzhen managed to hold on to their slender advantage and Chengdu boss Wang Baoshan said afterwards:

"Actually, we have had more chances than the home side but this is another disappointing result for us.

"We trained really hard ahead of this match and although we played well we couldn't pick up the result we wanted."
