Chengdu remain entrenched in the Chinese Super League's relegation zone after two goals in the final 16 minutes gave Jiangsu Shuntian the points in the latest round of fixtures.

In the city of Nanjing, second-bottom Blades battled gamely but finally succumbed to the home side's pressure late on.

Despite efforts from Liu Yu and Roen, the Blades were unable to find the target, whilst goalkeeper Lan Yi was only forced into one notable save before the home side opened the scoring through Colombian Carlos on 74 minutes.

With the Blades pushing for an equaliser, Jiangsu added a second eight minutes later. This time Carlos was the architect and Tan Si finished off the move.

Chengdu boss Wang Baoshan was, understandably, very disappointed with the result.

He said: "This was a very tough match for us and the first goal we conceded had a negative impact on our players. We worked hard but things didn't go to plan. I think we have some problems at the back and we have immediately got to work on that."
