Skipper Wang Song scored deep into injury-time as Chengdu salvaged a vital point from Saturday's 'derby' clash against Chongqing Lifan.

With both teams from the Sichuan Province, the matched generated plenty of interest across the whole of China which was intensified as Arend Hann, the former national team head coach is now manager of rock bottom Lifan.

The hosts started in positive fashion and Fu Bin had to be at his best to deny Huang Xiyang as early as the second minute.

Chengdu soon responded with an attack of their own and Yao Xia came within a whisker of opening the scoring, before Demar headed over from Wang Song's free-kick.

In the 34th minute though Chongqing took the lead, Jimmy crossed the ball from the right and HUANG XIYANG applied the finishing touch from close-range.

In the second-half the Blades had two goals disallowed for offside, with Shi Jun and Rodrigues the unlucky strikers.

Most of the 400 travelling supporters thought the match was it going into stoppage-time but the Blades had other ideas.

Ji Mingyi's long throw wasn't cleared properly and WANG SONG was on hand to fire the ball into the back of the net and earn the visitors a deserved share of the spoils.

Manager Wang Baoshan was understandably pleased after the game and was full of praise for the character his players had shown:

"This was always going to be a tough match. In the end the result was dramatic and that is the magic of football.

"The players have been working extremely hard and as the manager I can't ask for anymore.

"Our team spirit is excellent and that allowed us to gain the late equaliser."
