Chengdu's two game unbeaten run came to an end with a single goal defeat at Dalian Shide in round nine of the Chinese Super League.

Dalian, the most successful team in China had won their previous three home matches, and Zhu Ting scored the winner just after half-time, in a clash that saw two players sent-off.

The Blades began well and were rarely troubled with Liu Cheng dominant at the back, whilst Ryang Myong and Rodrigues both tested Dalian's keeper.

In the 40th minute Shide's winger Zhao Mingjian was red-carded for a reckless challenge on Myong.

Moments after the restart ZHU TING scored for Dalian, although Wang Song and Rodrigues both came close for Chengdu.

The Blades were then reduced to ten-men in the 74th minute when Liu Cheng was sent-off for two bookable offences.

Chengdu were condemned to their first defeat under new boss Wang Baoshan, who was critical of his players:

"This is a very disappointing result, we should have got something particularly after they lost a player before half-time.

"The players didn't concentrate and that's why we conceded straight from the restart, so that is an area we must work on."
