Chengdu Blades ended a four-match losing streak with a creditable point against CSL leaders Henan Jianye over the weekend.

Technical Director Don O'Riordan took charge of the team following the departure of Li Bing and striker SHI JUN got the Blades off to the perfect start, opening the scoring after just six minutes.

The lead was short-lived though as XU YANG equalised for the hosts in the 28th minute, but O'Riordan was delighted with Chengdu's application and desire in what was on paper a testing away fixture:

"I am so proud of the players, we really couldn't have asked for much more.

"The table says there is a massive difference between ourselves and Henan, but we didn't believe that and the players had worked hard all work to show their ability which was demonstrated in this match."
