Chengdu Blades bounced back from their devastating defeat to fellow title challenges Guangzhou Guangyao, with a moral boosting 2-0 victory over Beijing Hongdeng.

Over 200 Blades supporters made the 30 hour train journey, to give their team some extra vocal backing.

The Blades dominated early on and took the lead after 15 minutes. Wang Song fed the ball to Kamate, who set-up Min Jin to stroke the ball past the goalkeeper.

The visitors continued to apply pressure on the hosts and that paid off after 25 minutes when Wang Song crossed for Wesley to glance the ball home from inside the penalty area.

The Blades were resolute in defence throughout and rarely looked in danger, despite the best efforts by Beijing to force their way back into the game.

The second-half petered out and Chengdu secured a vital win, in an attempt to put some pressure on league leaders Guangzhou Guangyao.

After the match Wang Song said, "I feel really good, that was a very important match for us. Having the bye in the round 18 gave Jiangsu the opportunity to overtake took over us, and we had to turn it around as soon as possible. This is all about confidence and we can't be out of top two places if we want to achieve promotion."

Team Manager Li Bing also reserved special praise for Wang Song.

Bing said, "Wang Song has done a good job. As the captain of the team I am satisfied with his performance, including that on the pitch and his leadership. This win is really important to us and could that could add more confidence to our players. "

Meanwhile, Jiangsu Shuntian were defeated away by Shanghai in round 19, which has allowed the Blades to regain second position and move 2 points clear of Jiangsu. However Chengdu remain 5 points behind Guangzhou and next face a home game against Nanjing Yoyo in round 20.
