Simon Lappin says the Blades remain in high spirits ahead of Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie with League Two outfit Hartlepool United.
United haven't won in 90 minutes since the opening day of the season, but recent loan recruit Lappin insists confidence isn't an issue.
He said: "The dressing room is still in high spirits but everyone is just desperate for that elusive win. It doesn't matter how it comes in some respects, if we have to grind and scrap out a 1-0 win then so be it.
"Tuesday night is another opportunity for us to get a victory in front of our own supporters, but it won't be easy."
Focusing on the challenge against the Pools, the versatile Scotsman added: "We just want to get a win, regardless of the competition, but Hartlepool will be focused on trying to cause an upset.
"They scored four goals at the weekend, so will come here full of confidence. Colin Cooper and Craig Hignett both had good playing careers and I am sure they will have a well organised and resolute side."
