Jordan Chapell has left Bramall Lane on a free transfer to join League Two outfit Torquay United on a two-year deal.

Chapell impressed whilst on-loan at Plainmoor towards the end of last season and former Rotherham United boss Alan Knill has swooped to sign the winger permanently, although the Blades have a substantial sell-on clause in place.

The Sheffield born prospect has been a regular in the reserves and most recently for the U21s last term, having progressed through the ranks at the Academy.

The 21-year-old, who also had a loan stint with Burton Albion last season, made six first-team appearances for the Blades in total, after making his debut in the League Cup at Hartlepool in August 2010.
