United's average League One attendance for the 2012/13 season was 18,611 - over 6,000 more than our nearest competitor, Portsmouth.

The highest gate at Bramall Lane was 23,431 for the clash with Brentford last month, whilst the attendance at S2 has exceeded over 20,000 on a number of occasions.

Commending the fans for their backing this term, caretaker boss Chris Morgan said: "The supporters have been excellent since the day I signed as a player in 2003. The support at Bramall Lane has always been top notch and it will continue to be.

"They will have been frustrated on the coach back from Yeovil, just like we were on the team bus.

"We need them to stick with us; they know they have a proud football club to support and you couldn't ask for better fans."
