Danny Wilson has confirmed that Chris Porter returned to the club on Thursday morning, following a successful loan spell with League One rivals Shrewsbury Town.
Porter scored once in four starts during his time at the Greenhous Meadow, his last appearance coming as a late substitute in the Shrews 3-2 victory at the MK Dons on Tuesday night.
Speaking ahead of the weekend's clash at Stevenage, the Blades boss said: "Chris (Porter) has returned to the club following his month with Shrewsbury Town and offers us another attacking option. The initial thought was to loan him out to get some games under his belt and he has done that.
"We know we couldn't afford to be a body short during the run-in and importantly for Chris he has been playing regularly of late.
"He went there and gave Shrewsbury a boost, but they now have a few other attacking options of their own, so it was right that we brought him back into the frame here."
