David McAllister has left the Blades to join Shrewsbury Town.

The Irish midfielder, who has been in South Yorkshire since January 2011, made 30 appearances for United in total, scoring four goals in the process, the last of which came in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Coventry City last month.

This season, McAllister started the campaign well, ironically scoring the winning goal against the Shrews at Bramall Lane on the opening day of the campaign.

McAllister moves for an undisclosed fee and signs a two-and-a-half year deal.

Last term McAllister spent three months on-loan at the Greenhous Meadow, where he made 15 starts for Graham Turner's men as he helped Town win promotion from League Two.

He is the second departure from the Lane this transfer window with John Cofie returning to Manchester United last week.
