Neill Collins insists the Blades will take nothing for granted in Saturday's League One curtain raiser against Shrewsbury Town.
The defender says United are looking forward to starting the new campaign on their home patch, but is adamant the newly-promoted Shrews will provide them with a stern test:
"We are happy to be at home first up, but you have to play everyone home and away during the course of the season and the weekend will be a tough place to start.
"Arguably it is tougher playing a newly promoted team first up because they are on the crest of a wave, but we need a good start in front of own supporters to give everyone a real lift.
"From what I saw of Shrewsbury last season, when they were excellent at home, I know they will be resolute and come here with a real doggedness and determination to start well."
A home win on Saturday is also important according to the Scotsman as United face two testing away matches in the shape of Coventry City and Colchester United on the back of the meeting with Graham Turner's men:
"It is always important to start a season with a positive result, but especially when you face successive away games against two decent outfits."
