Nick Blackman has a memory of Bramall Lane already... being on the receiving end of Chris Morgan's right boot!
The 22-year-old striker, who signed a two-year deal at S2 on Friday morning, joining from Blackburn Rovers for an undisclosed fee, says he is now looking forward to working with the recently-retired former Blades skipper:
"I remember playing at Bramall Lane when I was on-loan at Blackpool and I scored in front of the Kop on my full debut. Chris Morgan was playing at centre-half at that time and I got a few bumps and bruises, so now I will be glad of his advice rather than his kicks!"
On his move to the Blades, Blackman added: "I am over the moon to have secured this move and I can't wait to get started now. I knew in my own mind I needed to play games regularly this season, whether that was at Blackburn or elsewhere, so hopefully I can achieve that here.
"Apart from last season I have been on-loan every season since moving to Ewood Park, after making my debut as a 17-year-old at Macclesfield Town. My loan spells have been great for my development and real positive experiences, but I am keen to prove my worth at Sheffield United.
"League One is a real competitive division, I know this from my time at Oldham Athletic, but this Club will be amongst the front runners for promotion again I am sure."
The Lancastrian says he had no qualms moving over the Pennines and believes Bramall Lane is the ideal place to kick-start his career.
"My two main aims are to work hard and score plenty of goals. I am regarded as a big lad up front but I believe I have more to offer," he said on Friday.
"I really enjoyed my loan spells at Aberdeen and Motherwell, but not playing much last season hampered my development.
"This is an opportunity I am relishing and moving away from Blackburn Rovers isn't a problem because I need to do what is best for me to progress my career."
