Nigel Adkins hopes to have a fully fit squad to choose from for Saturday's Sky Bet League One clash with Wigan Athletic at Bramall Lane.
Chris Basham and Matt Done (both hamstring) missed the goalless draw at Blackpool at the end of last month, but having had no game last weekend, Adkins is optimistic the duo will be fit to come into contention to face the Latics.
Meanwhile, Billy Sharp (foot) is expected to shake off the niggling injury that has seen him require pre-match painkilling injections in recent weeks.
Another positive for United, is the return to fitness of Bob Harris. The left-back completed 45 minutes of the U21s fixture at Hull City recently and then played 90 minutes in a training match at the end of last week.
For the visitors, Wigan boss Gary Caldwell could name an unchanged starting XI following last Saturday's 3-0 victory over Port Vale at the DW Stadium.
Will Grigg scored a hat-trick against the Valiants and is expected to lead the Latics forward line in South Yorkshire, whilst recent recruits Sam Morsy and Ryan Colclough are both pushing for their full debuts.
