Blades boss Chris Wilder hopes Daniel Lafferty (back) will be fit for Saturday's clash at Walsall.
The Northern Ireland international, who has been instrumental in the Blades surging to the summit of Sky Bet EFL League One, was forced off before the hour in last week's win at Southend.
His replacement at Roots Hall, Matt Done, is likely to deputise should Lafferty to prove his fitness in time for the clash at the Banks's Stadium.
Samir Carruthers (knee) will miss out against the Saddlers, but Wilder is relieved that his recent recruit from the MK Dons will only be sidelined for up to a month having limped out of his debut in Essex.
Meanwhile, for Jon Whitney's side, Celtic loanee Eoghan O'Connell could be handed his debut in defence having joined the club on-loan for the rest of the season on Thursday.
Whitney must also decide whether to recall midfield duo Franck Moussa and Erhun Oztumer against the Blades, after both were used from off the bench against Rochdale last time out. Former Blade Florent Cuvelier is also in line to feature.
